Employee Spotlight: Melanie Legget
Our "Right Hand" at Marshall Disposal

At Marshall Disposal, we know our success doesn’t just come from our equipment or our services—it comes from our people. Each member of our team plays a vital role in delivering the level of excellence our customers have come to expect. This month, we’re proud to spotlight Melanie Liggett, our Executive Assistant and one of the many behind-the-scenes heroes who helps keep Marshall Disposal running with efficiency, integrity, and heart.
Wearing Many Hats with Grace
Melanie joined the Marshall family five years ago, stepping into a role that requires a remarkable level of organization, flexibility, and leadership. As Executive Assistant, her responsibilities span across departments, helping to coordinate daily operations, support leadership, and ensure things run smoothly both internally and externally.
“In my role, I wear many hats and juggle a lot of responsibility,” Melanie explains. “But what I love most is the feeling of being truly valued. Every day brings new challenges that help me grow—not just professionally, but personally as well.”
Her position is demanding, but Melanie approaches each day with confidence and grace, always looking for opportunities to improve and uplift those around her.
A Culture of Respect and Mutual Support
Melanie is quick to credit the culture at Marshall Disposal as one of the most defining features of her experience here. While many companies talk about values like respect and fair treatment, at Marshall’s, those values are lived out daily—from the leadership team all the way to the front lines.
“Our team is exceptional,” she says. “There’s a sense of fairness, mutual respect, and support that’s incredibly rare. We’re more than just colleagues. We’re a family.”
That family atmosphere doesn’t stop at the office door. Melanie describes a workplace where people genuinely care about each other’s lives beyond work—whether it’s celebrating milestones, supporting one another through challenges, or simply taking time to connect.
“There’s a real sense that we’re in this together. We care about each other as people, not just employees.”
Leadership That Leads with Compassion
One of the reasons this culture has taken root so deeply at Marshall Disposal is because it starts from the top. Melanie speaks highly of the owners and leaders who model authenticity and servant leadership every day.
“It’s not just about the tasks—it’s about making a difference. Our leaders are genuinely compassionate and selfless, and that attitude sets the tone for the entire company.”
Melanie sees firsthand how those small, behind-the-scenes actions—from a word of encouragement to a willingness to listen—can have a big impact on morale and performance.
More Than a Job
When asked what keeps her committed after three years of service, Melanie doesn’t hesitate.
“Being part of this team is more than a job. It’s a community of care, respect, and support. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
In a world where workplace culture can often feel transactional, Melanie’s story is a reminder of what happens when people are treated like family. Her dedication, positivity, and humility make her an invaluable part of the Marshall team.
We’re thankful for the work she does—and even more thankful for the spirit in which she does it.
